Hey lovelies how are you all? I’ve got two stripey pedis to show you today. I currently have a thing for stripes!

I love how you can make it different with just a few colour changes!

Now I have a question for you ladies! I need your help with some nail art! I have a new dress and it’s a bit of a big deal because it’s an actual nursing dress (which are so hard to come by and pricey here!) This is the pattern:

Hope to hear from you all soon! Xo

Moon Candy Ruffian Mani

Hi you lovely lot, I was trying to be very good and not buy any more polishes when I came across the Revlon Moon Candy range. It has a base colour at one end and a glitter topper at the other. Well I just had to try it out! I opted for Orbit, which is a deep purple with a blue/purple glitter.

For this mani I started out with two coats of Maybelline silver and a coat of holographic silver. Then I carefully painted my ruffian with the base colour. Then I added the glitter topper mainly on the tips of my nails.

What do you think? I love the glitter, it’s more like flakes than glitter. Flakes of moon candy!

Nails Inc. Metallic Collection Swatches

Hi lovelies, I broke up from work for a week today so celebrated with some metallic swatches :)

Gold: Wembly
Silver: Greenwich Park
Bronze: Horse Guards Parade

The coverage is fab and they are super shiny – this is two coats. They are textured polishes and I really like the consistency, they are ‘limited edition polishes featuring a brand new textured chrome formulation to create a show stopping, ultra glossy finish’ according to the website. These are only the second textured polishes I have tried and I think they are great!

More Nails Inc. Oops!

Hi lovely followers, guess who went mad on the Nails Inc. site when purchasing her glitter bomb polishes….

Guessed yet?

Yes that’s right, me!

I purchased a mirror metallic polish, some bronze, silver and gold textured metallic collection polishes and my glitter bomb polishes.

Watch this space for swatches :)

3D Floral/Safari

Hello fellow nailoholics! I finally got around to trying the 3D flowers that I purchased from Born Pretty Store.

20130516-195435.jpg

I chose to use one of my teal Nails Inc. polishes as my background. I used my nail art pens to draw a blossom design on my thumb and stuck my 3D flower on using clear nail polish.

I realise now that thinking clear polish would be enough to stick the flower to my nail was a big mistake! I picked up some papers at work today and a sheet slid between my flower and the nail and the 3D flower came clean off :( I have now invested in brush on nail glue (why I never had any in the first place is a mystery!) so I will post a new image of the next 3D experiment soon!

On another naily note, I did a safari manicure on my friend Sarah too.

What do you think?

Multi Leopard Print

Hi all, here is a leopard pedi for you.

20130515-180220.jpg

I used Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in purple pulse for my base colour. I then put some random coloured splotches in the corner of my nail with silver, pink and white. Then I used the black to outline each colour.

I think a lighter base would have been better, the leopard print would have shown up better, but I love this!

Barry M Bail Art Pens

Hi lovelies! As you can imagine, I have been dying to try out my nail goodies and I couldn’t wait to try my new Barry M nail art pens, courtesy of my lovely friend Sarah. I had read reviews about the brilliant ‘nib’ like applicator and how simple they were to use. I Googled some designs and found inspiration from Brit Nails Barry M Nail Art Pen review. I loved the jewel mostly and wanted to incorporate that into my mani. I also loved the animal print and wanted to see how easy the pens were to use by trying a few designs out.

This is what I came up with:

I started out with a Rimmel 60 second polish Shocker, and waited for it to dry completely. A coat of Sally Hansen’s insta-dri came in handy. When my polish was dry, I set to work drawing my designs. The pens are very simple to use and the design did not ‘drag’ when I had to colour over certain parts again. I added a glitter tip/gradient to my index and ring finger as this is the colour I recently had on my toes and I loved this as a gradient. I topped my designs off with a lovely shiny coat of Seche.

I love these pens, I’m itching to try even more designs out already!

Nail Challenge Day 24: Tape Mani

Hi beauties, it’s day 23 in Julie’s 30 day challenge and today the theme is tape mani.

I went for a simple tape design as I hadn’t got much time for the colour to dry. When I did my previous tape mani (click here to see) I waited a whole day for the colour to dry, and painted over the tape a day later. These spangly colours remind me of a mermaid.

Nail Challenge Day 13: Ruffian

Hi all and welcome to Julie’s 30 day nail challenge and today the theme is ruffian.

20130413-074108.jpg
First I painted 1 coat of silver polish and 1 coat of holographic prism. Then I used Barry M ‘navy’ to paint over the top.

I then used glequins on my index and ring finger in blue too-they are hard to see in the pictures but were really sparkly. I love this mani, it looks glamorous and for my first ruffian, I am proud I got the lines straight yay!
