Oh mon dieu its the rather awesome 31 day challenge -Day 11 Stripes

Hi girlies and welcome to my day 11 entry for the Oh mon dieu its the rather awesome 31 day challenge! Today I went with my glequins to create the stripes as none of my stripes actually looked like stripes!!

(These photos aren’t good! I couldn’t capture the glequins because the nail polish colour and glequin colour was too similar!)

I think you can just about see them!

Birthday Nails!

Hi all! I have done two lots of lovely birthday nails today for my friends. Both manis are to match a dress.

The first is a floral/butterfly mani.
The dress this is inspired by has blue and pink flowers with black butterflies.

The second is a nautical mani.
The dress is this is inspired by is royal blue, so I thought a nautical theme would suit.

As you can tell from the pictures I have used a range of techniques and polishes; glequins, Barry M nail art pens, dotting tools, feather polish and glitter gradient.

What do you think of these birthday manis?

Glequin Half Mani

So I loved my ring finger on my last mani that much that I had to recreate it and mix it up a bit!

I chose a base of Glints of Glinda – Opi, and a glittery black from Avon .

I then chose a variety of coloured glequins to put on each hand.

This is what I came up with:

So I have red, emerald, baby pink, electric blue and lime glequins; different nail, different colour.

This mani didn’t take long considering all my glequins. I love it! It feels glamorous and sparkly.

What do you think?

Birthday Nails!

Hi beauties, thank you all for your super birthday nails suggestions!

I went with a mix of the suggestions, all except animal print. I used Pocket Money Polishes suggestion of Barry M ‘Lychee’, Elise’s suggestion of birthstone nails and Helen’s party glitter idea.

This is what I came up with…

I chose to do a glitter gradient like I have done previously on the lychee polish because it works so well with the dress I plan to wear! I would have preferred to do a silver glitter gradient ideally because there are silver sequins on my dress, but I still haven’t found the perfect silver for gradients!

My glequin nail is emerald green – my birthstone.

It’s not too different to my previous pedi really. What do you think?

Nail Challenge Day 20: Border Mani

Hi all welcome to my take on day 20 in Julie’s 30 day challenge today the theme is border mani.

The most obvious choice for me here was to use glequins-you all know I love them!! I used a models own polish and just chose two feature nails to create a border on with my glequins.

Wizard of Oz Mani

Hi all! Here is a mani that cheered me right up after my disastrous rainbow mani! My niece came to visit and allowed me to play polish with her lovely long nails! She wanted a half moon mani so I chose Opi Glints of Glinda as a base then Barry M black to paint the rest of the nail. I then used some emerald green glequins to define the half moon. Abbie said, “Wow they’re going to be green and black like the witch in Wizard of Oz!” hence the Oz inspiration!

I’m very proud of them :)

PVA and Glitter – A Winning Combo!

Wowee am I impressed!

The other day, after seeing a post on Blondes love Cupcakes about peel-off base coats, I went and purchased some PVA glue to see if that would do the trick. I painted it on before I painted my Sinful glitter and glequins on my index finger in my last mani. I have just gone to remove my polish and carefully peeled at the corner of my glequin nail and ta daaaa!

They have come off in one complete sheet, and it took me seconds to take off, unlike other methods of glitter removal! I love glitter, but just hate the removal with a passion, so this for me is a dream come true.

Yippee!
