I painted Opi ‘sparrow me the drama’ on and used my red stamping polish and a floral pattern to stamp onto my ring finger. I stamped first time again yippee! Then I put 3 glequins in the middle of the larger flowers. The glequins are pink too, but you can’t really tell from the way they are sparkling in the pictures.
I chose Avon 30 second speed dry ‘sprightly mint’ polish as a base coat and then stamped, yes, stamped the scaley pattern on each of my nails.
Now all of you brilliant stampers will wonder what the fuss is about, but if you know about me and my lack of stamping skills, then you will know that me doing each nail FIRST TIME is a huge achievement for me!!
When I had stamped I then used a coat of Rimmel’s Matte pro wear top coat to mattify my nails. I love this mani, because of my stamping victory, yippee! :)
Hi all! I went shopping today and invested in some of Sally Hansen’s Nail Nutrition and Save the Nail ‘bridge the ridge’ amongst other polishes!
I was excited to try my new Barry M ‘Lychee’ and Avon ‘Smoky Plumes’ so I incorporated the two into one mani!
I quite liked it, but I wanted to add something more. So I got my stamping gear out. Bad idea! I’m just not good at stamping! I find it so hard to transfer my image from the plate to the stamper and so it takes me lots of attempts just to transfer. And then there is the task of putting it in the correct place on my nail. Aargh! After what seemed like a million tries and an episode of Grey’s Anatomy later, I managed to transfer 2 images on to each ring finger. Yes. Just. Two. Then I promptly ruined my middle finger, just to add to my frustration!
After my stamping catastrophe I decided to use glequins for my index finger which was so speedy to apply after my stamping episode! All in all, this honeycomb effect took about 10 minutes for both nails.
I like the end result, even though the overall mani took about 3 hours and made me mad. Aargh!
I saw a Youtube tutorial a while ago about stamping, and as any polishaholic would be, I was instantly interested. I ordered a bundle monster stamping plates set, konad stamping polish, konad plate holder and stamp from Amazon UK. Then I set off eagerly to stamp. The videos made it look so simple, yet there I was, struggling to wipe the stamping polish off the plate correctly, then trying to transfer the image and actually stamping it on my nail. After refusing to give up, and beginning to get the hang of it, this was my first result:
I didn’t think my first attempt was terrible, even though the stars are wonky, but I definitely was not happy with it. So the following day I tried again and came up with this:
Which was much better than the first attempt, as I could get the image from the plate more easily. I am still very much a stamp newbie but it is all becoming easier. I struggle to transfer bigger designs but I’m hoping if I practise enough that I will look like those girls on the video!
I decided to file my nails into a square shape for a change. I generally like my nails in a more rounded shape but I like a change every now and then! After preparing my nails, I painted Barry M black and Avon Nailwear Pro peach on my thumb and ring finger. Then I stamped a swirl pattern in black on my thumb and ring finger with my bundle monster stamping plate. I really like this mani, it looks fabulous if I do say so myself!
