The Wanderer Returns!

Hello you wonderful lot!

My last post was almost a year ago – May 17th 2014!

Life is hectic in the Oohlala household. With a husband, step-son and my now 1-year old daughter there is hardly a moment to spare, hence me being MIA for this long!

I’ve been cheating, and have been using my sisters skills as she has a Gel Nail kit and it’s so much easier with a baby and busy family with no drying time!

But here I am today to share with you my Barry M goodies! I tried the new Sunset colours. There are loads of swatches and reviews about, but I just wanted to see if they lived up to their name.

I chose two colours; For the Stars (peach/coral) and Fuschia Generation. They only work with the special top coat and then they cure in daylight.

I think the gloss on them is brilliant! Wonder how they’ll last. Xo

Inspired Ikat Pedi

Hiya everyone, how are you all doing? Well my stripey toes chipped (sob!) and needed re painting so I decided to stop being stripey mad and look for inspiration… When this Nailasaurus “Instagram accounts you should follow” blog post popped up and I saw this amazing design! I loved everything about it, colours, design, placement etc so decided I would recreate!

Now this is different as it’s on my toes and I have a silver glitter feature nail, but here is my version…

Love it! And on the hottest day of the year today, I’m going to show them off in some pretty sandals!

Butterfly Feature Mani

Hey lovelies, how are you all? Here’s a quick butterfly feature mani I did earlier. (All my manis are quickies now I’m a momma!) Here is the last butterfly feature mani I did.

The peachy colour is Nails Inc. Wellington Square and I drew the butterfly wing with my Barry M black & white nail art pens.

Then I Seche’d – you won’t believe how much of a god send Seche Vite is when two seconds after finishing your nails baby needs a cuddle!

Anyway enough waffle, here it is!

Stripey Pedi plus Help!

Hey lovelies how are you all? I’ve got two stripey pedis to show you today. I currently have a thing for stripes!

I love how you can make it different with just a few colour changes!

Now I have a question for you ladies! I need your help with some nail art! I have a new dress and it’s a bit of a big deal because it’s an actual nursing dress (which are so hard to come by and pricey here!) This is the pattern:

Can any of you amazing ladies help me decide how to paint my nails to match my dress?

Baby News & Spring Galaxy Mani

Hello to all my fabulous followers! I know I have been MIA for about the last year due to me being pregnant and nail varnish and remover making me feel so sick! Buttttt my bump turned into a baby on the 14th March and I gave birth to a little girl. She is adorable and now my days are mainly taken up by staring at her in utter amazement that my body miraculously made her! How funny that Baby Oohlala was almost born on my blogiversary!

So I am very busy now I am a Mummy but I had a new mani that I wanted to try! I love galaxy nails and have previously painted a galaxy mani and wanted to paint one again as I love the effect. But I thought it was very dark for such a springy time of year, so I searched the net and saw some amazing pastel galaxy nails on the nailasaurus and fell in love! What a brilliant spring galaxy mani! So here is my attempt at a Spring Galaxy Mani…

After Christmas Nails

Hi lovelies, hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Santa delivered everything you dreamed of! I was a lucky ducky and had some nail varnish! My gorgeous fella got me the Nails Inc Top 10 Collection

The colours included are:
❤ Baker Street – cobalt blue
❤ Queen Victoria Street – emerald green
❤ The Boltons – deep red metallic
❤ Crown Court – deep purple metallic
❤ Porchester Square – classic nude
❤ Chelsea Passage – gold fibre optic
❤ South Kensington – silver foil effect
❤ The Thames – cool grey
❤ Chelsea Square – rose glitter
❤ Bruton Street – antique rose cream

I painted a ruffian mani today using:
❤ Bruton street
❤ Crown Court
❤ Chelsea Square
❤ Seche Vite

The colours are gorgeous and my nails are much shinier than the picture shows. Thank you Santa!

Feeling Festive!

Hello you lovely bunch! I haven’t blogged in forever! But I have been watching you all! I have been very inspired by all the Christmas nail art that I have seen, so painted a little mix and match festive nail art today. And guess what?! It didn’t make me feel sick yippee! Hopeful that I can paint my nails a little more from now on!

Anyway, here is my first festive nail design.
Candy Cane Toes

I love my little candy cane toes! I used Barry M white for the base and Barry M red glitter for the stripes. I used some washi tape for my big stripes and stripping tape for my smaller ones.

My second festive nail design is
Mix & Match Festive Fingers!

I couldn’t choose 1 design, so I chose 5! I have a Santa thumb, Christmas tree finger, reindeer finger, snowman finger and a pudding pinky! I free handed all the designs here.

Baby

Hi lovelies, I know some of you lovely followers were following my baby news, so I have a little update for you. Thank you for all your kind wishes and congratulations!

I had my 20 week scan and all is healthy and well. My scan picture however is a little strange and baby’s arm is over it’s head, making it look like a dinosaur! So I have a healthy baby dino!

:) very happy.

Almond Mani

Hi girlies, for the first time in WEEKS, I finally felt like painting my nails! Weeks of naked nails made me sad but the smell today really made me feel ill :(

I decided to file my nails into an almond shape because I fancied a change. I saw someone with a Halloween pumpkin mani on almond nails and thought the shape was so different!

I just painted my nails a simple red with glitter today.

Hi Lovlies

Sorry I’ve been absent for such a long time! But I have some exciting news … Mr Oohlala & myself are expecting a baby!

The sad news is that I’ve had naked nails for a while now because nail polish and nail polish remover make me feel sick :( I am not too well at the moment and I’m not too sure when I’ll be back!
